EVENTS COMING UP

This Saturday, March 23, I’ll be appearing at Jugiong Writers Festival, discussing contemporary Australia fiction. On April 6 & 7, I’ll be at the Newcastle Writers Festival, talking about character and country. I am doing two Cedar Valley events for Sydney Writers Festival – one at Hurstville Library (April 30) and one Carriageworks (May 4). Also for SWF, I’ll be taking part in Gay For Page (May 3), which has a particularly excellent line-up this year. For Vivid Sydney, I’ll be playing a set with my old mate Jack Ladder on May 24, opening for other old mates, The Middle East (who are reforming) to celebrate Spunk Records’ 20th Anniversary. And finally, I’ll be part of this year’s Mark Colvin Conversation on May 29 at the AGNSW, a panel on the subject of inner life in the digital age. I will also play two songs at this. See you all at an event shortly. More info and ticket links are on the LIVE page.

Seeker Lover Keeper - New video, album and tour

I am very excited to announce that Seeker Lover Keeper’s new song & video was released today. The song is called ‘Wild Seeds’ and the video stars the incredible Yael Stone (who many will know from Orange is the New Black). Yael is an actor – and a person – of integrity, honesty and strength, and, in this video, she wears maternity Spanx, 9 months post-baby, and delivers a wild, intense, and darkly hilarious take on “the performance of femininity”. We watched her in awe. And you can watch the video in full here.

‘Wild Seeds’ is the second single from our new album, also called Wild Seeds, which comes out on August 9th. You can pre-order the record here.

To celebrate the release of our album, SLK are doing a national tour in Sep/Oct. Tickets go on sale Monday July 24 at 9am! More details can be found here.

Goodwood ABC series in development

I am extremely excited to announce that ABC and ABC Studios International are developing my first novel, Goodwood, for a series. And, not only that, there is an amazing dream team of creative women working on it! Alison Bell and Sarah Scheller (the team behind The Letdown) are writing the adaptation. Alice Bell (Puberty Blues, The Beautiful Lie) and Claudia Karvan are producing, with executive producer Imogen Banks (of Endemol Shine Banks). Also executive producing are Sally Riley (ABC’s head of Drama, Comedy and Indigenous) and Keli Lee (ABC Studios International). Have a read!

Seeker Lover Keeper, my band with pals Sarah Blasko and Sally Seltmann, has new music and news! I can’t believe it’s been eight years since our last record. Our brand new single, ‘Let it Out’ is out today and the video stars the incredible Magda Szubanski, who I dearly love. It was directed by our friend Nat van den Dungen. You can watch it here.

To celebrate, we are playing two shows in July. In Sydney at the Landsowne with Jack Colwell and Elizabeth Fader; and at the Nortchcote Social Club in Melbourne with Kee’ahn and Alice Skye. Tickets are on sale now! Head over to our Seeker Lover Keeper websitefor more info.
